Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard’s big day was a small affair. After seven years of dating, the couple married at a little chapel in Italy on Saturday. Among the 40 guests at the Brindisi ceremony were Maggie’s little bro Jake, and his girlfriend, Reese Witherspoon, who also attended Maggie’s bridal shower in March.
Gyllenhaal, 31, and Sarsgaard, 38, who co-starred in 2003’s ‘In God’s Hands’, have a two-year old daughter, Ramona.
Gyllenhaal’s most famous role was Katie Holmes’ replacement as Rachel Dawes in ‘The Dark Knight.’ When cast, Gyllenhaal spewed some snipey remarks about being selected because the director didn’t want some ‘generic lady in a dress’ to fill the role.
Of course, the real reason Maggie got the part is because, with her dark hair and droopy eyes, she is the generic version of Katie.
